Dhyān Yog

BG 6.45

The student of spirituality, after many lives of earnest striving and absolution of sin, attains perfection and reaches the supreme state.

प्रयत्नाद्यतमानस्तु योगी संशुद्धकिल्बिषः
अनेकजन्मसंसिद्धस्ततो याति परां गतिम्

  • prayatnād — with great effort

  • yatamānas — endeavoring

  • tu — and

  • yogī — a yogi

  • sanśhuddha-kilbiṣhaḥ — purified from material desires

    • sanśhuddha — purified

    • kilbiṣhaḥ — from material desires

  • aneka-janma-sansiddhas — attaining perfection after many births

    • aneka — after many

    • janma — births

    • sansiddhas — attaining perfection

  • tato — then

  • yāti — attains

  • parāṁ — the highest

  • gatim — path

The student of spirituality, after many lives of earnest striving and absolution of sin, attains perfection and reaches the supreme state.

Such a wise student is superior to the ascetic, the scholar, and to those of action - therefore, be a wise person, Arjuna!

The best of these students is the one who is full of faith and has fixed their inner self upon me.
