16. Divine and Demonic Natures

BG 16.15

"I am wealthy and of noble birth. Who else is equal to me? I will sacrifice, I will give charity, and I shall rejoice!" Such is their delusion.

आढ्योऽभिजनवानस्मि कोऽन्योऽस्ति सदृशो मया
यक्ष्ये दास्यामि मोदिष्य इत्यज्ञानविमोहिताः

  • āḍhyo — wealthy

  • ’bhijanavān — of noble birth

  • asmi — me

  • ko — who

  • ’nyo — else

  • ’sti — is

  • sadṛiśho — like

  • mayā — to me

  • yakṣhye — I shall perform sacrifices

  • dāsyāmi — I shall give alms

  • modiṣhya — I shall rejoice

  • ity — thus

  • ajñāna-vimohitāḥ — deluded by ignorance

    • ajñāna — ignorance

    • vimohitāḥ — deluded
