My womb is the great Brahman, in which I plant the seed from which all beings are born.

मम योनिर्महद्ब्रह्म तस्मिन् गर्भं दधाम्यहम्
संभवः सर्वभूतानां ततो भवति भारत

  • mahad — large, great

  • brahma — Brahma

  • tasmin — in that

  • garbhaṁ — womb

  • dadhāmy — impregnate

  • aham — I

  • sambhavaḥ — birth

  • sarva-bhūtānāṁ — of all living beings

    • sarva — all

    • bhūtānāṁ

  • tato — thereby
    tataḥ—thereby

  • bhavati — becomes

  • bhārata — Arjuna

Whatever forms are produced in any womb, this great womb of Brahma is their womb, and I am their father.
