अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्यागः शान्तिरपैशुनम्
दया भूतेष्वलोलुप्त्वं मार्दवं ह्रीरचापलम्

  • ahinsā — non-violence

  • satyam — truthfulness

  • akrodhas — absence of anger

  • tyāgaḥ — renunciation

  • śhāntir — peacefulness

  • apaiśhunam — restraint from fault-finding

  • dayā — compassion

  • bhūteṣhv — toward all living beings

  • aloluptvaṁ — absence of covetousness

  • mārdavaṁ — gentleness

  • hrīr — modesty

  • achāpalam — lack of fickleness

Krishna continued: Courage, clean living, devotion to wisdom, generosity, self-control, a spirit of sacrifice, study of the scriptures, austerity, and straightforwardness,
