There are one hundred and one nerves of the heart, one of which extends upward to the crown of the head. Some have traveled to immortality by this method, while others have departed differently.
Regardless of whether one takes this anatomical claim of 101 nerves literally, it is certainly worthy of appreciation that the ancient composers of the Upanishads were even aware of the neurological system in the first place.
